The Aurora Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1978 by local civic leader and musician Alice Lee Main when a young conductor named Gloria Olsen approached her to start a community orchestra. What began with 15 musicians has since grown to include a core vision of embracing Aurora’s rich cultural diversity and appreciation for the arts by performing an array of music that honors everyone’s heritages.
